History Tours: Roman BarcelonaIn this
tour I'll take you discovering the roots of Barcelona. Everything started
2000 years ago with the Romans... We’ll
have a walk around the oldest part of the city, and then we’ll discover the
Roman ruins dogged out by the city council: three blocks of the 2000 years
ago city of Barcino, now in the Museum of History of Barcelona. |

History Tours: Romanesque BarcelonaThere are two main architecture periods in the Middle Ages. The Romanesque style arrived to our land around 1000 years ago. There aren't many remains left in town, as most of the buildings were later on substituted by Gothic buildings (the following medieval period) during Barcelona's first golden age. Discovering them is going back to the time of the Counts and Countesses and the cradle of Catalonia. We’ll walk around the Old Town, and then
we’ll go to the MNAC museum to visit their amazing collection of Romanesque
frescos, unique in Europe. RELATED
DAY TRIPS: Cistercian Monasteries,
Súria & Cardona,
Empordà County |

favorite theme, and I’ll arrange a tour for you (booking at least one month in
advanced is required).
I’m preparing a tour to show you the
Barcelona that inspired Pedro Almodovar and Woody Allen, and another on the
Cemeteries of the city. Contact me if you are interested on them, and I might
speed up the design process of the tour!
