INTRODUCING THE GUIDES THAT HELP ME OUTWHEN I’M FULLY BOOKED!! Barcelona is a really popular destination, and in the high season I can be easily fully booked several weeks in advance. But I still want you to enjoy Barcelona, this is why if you want I can suggest some of my collaborators to show you around instead of me. Let me introduce them to you! Check also the FAQ’s
to learn more about technical details. |

MIRIAM
|
Míriam was born in Canet de Mar, a
charming seaside village between Barcelona and Girona, a
true Catalan! She has spent her life between her hometown, Girona –
where she studied Tourism, and Barcelona – where she’s been living these last
years with occasional stays back in Canet.
We met when we were passing our
exams to become official tourguides in 2000, so she has as much experience as
me guiding around Barcelona. Soon afterwards, she got hired by one of the
companies that offer daily step-up sightseeing tours, and there I met her again
one day that I joined one of their excursions
to Montserrat because I needed to learn how “professional tourguides”
organize this daytrip. She was the guide that day, so I can say a lot of the
things I know about Montserrat I learnt it from her! ☺
She speaks fluent English and French, and good Italian. And now, out of her passion about learning, she’s back to university in the afternoons to study Art History: her goal is to enjoy the lessons and learn, so she’s taking it easy.
We have traveled together to the
Middle East, and I can tell you she is passionate and maybe a bit emotional,
but she is also very honest and straightforward. She can take you visiting all
the city sites and destinations around Barcelona, and she makes great company
for a Tapas Tour when I’m not available.
She loves photography, food, art and
traveling: she can’t wait to go to India again!

SANDRA
|
Sandra is from Málaga (South of Spain), but she has been living in Barcelona since she was a kid. She studied History and we also passed our tourguide exams together. We used to collaborate together for a local travel agency, and that’s how we developed a friendship.
She speaks fluent English and good
German, and she’s starting to work in Italian as well. Apart from being a
professional tourguide she also works part-time in the Customer Support
call-center of an international air-line, what has allowed her to travel a lot
around the world.
Her style is a bit more serious than
mine, but she also has a polite sense of humor if you open the door for it. She
is very knowledgeable, so if you are interested in getting deep into the local
history, you’ll really enjoy your time with her. She is determined and energetic.
One of her specialties is the Jewish
Heritage, and in general everything related to the Middle Ages, although she is
also great showing you the Gaudí sites, the museums and the rest of the local
sites.

LIDIA
|
Lidia comes from family that is a mix of Northwestern Spanish and
Catalan, something very common in Barcelona. She started her Art History
studies in the University of Santiago de Compostela, then studied Logistics
with the Open University of Catalunya (UOC). She also studied Tourism and she
got her tourguide license in 1993.
After developing other activities
such as being a travel agent and being involved in other industries, she’s been
focused on fulltime guiding since 2007. We met on a training seminar for
tourguides a couple of years ago, I liked her style and since then I’ve also
been using her services when I wasn’t available.
She speaks fluent English and French
(she’s lived in England and France for a while). Now she’s living in a town in
the suburbs, but spends most of her time in Barcelona., and she’s the proud
mother of a lovely little girl. I don’t have to tell you that she’s great
touring with families!
She’s fun and relaxed, but
professional and knowledgeable at the same time. She is flexible and adaptable
and has a touch of sophistication.
She is of restless nature: she likes
writing, traveling and sharing her passion about Barcelona and Catalonia.

Other tourguides
|
Eventually there might be times when none of us is available, and I still have other contacts of great tourguides that we can use. Jordi, for instance, is a male tourguide with many years of experience that often works with VIPs, and he has helped me with tours of Contemporary Architecture when I wasn’t available, as well as for standard city tours. I have also sometimes used his wife Lourdes, an official tourguide as well.
Whoever I choose for your tour, depending on your style and their availability, will be someone that I know in person and that has a good reputation amongst the local tourguides. I want you to have the best experience in Barcelona!
