My name is Marta, I’m an official Barcelona tour guide and I have been giving private tours and group tours in Barcelona and Catalonia since 2000. I’m in love with my city, and I’m passionate about my job. I do enjoy being an ambassador of Barcelona for our visitors, and I feel really happy when I see my guests falling in love with our city. Most of my groups are private tours of all kinds: couples, families with kids and teens, friends traveling together, companies meeting in Barcelona who need a break between their congress activities... And I'm also used to working with larger groups: tours organized by cruiseships, travel agencies, student groups... My over 10 years experience leading mostly private tours has shown you that nowadays travelers aren’t just looking forward to see the sights, but they also want to approach the city they are visiting in a more personable way. So I have learnt to be a mix of the traditional tourguide that knows everything about the city history and sites, and a local expert that can also show you other things not strictly-touristy. Being with me is like walking around with a very knowledgeable friend! I can show you the best spots in Barcelona in a standard panoramic tour, take you on a Gaudí tour to discover the secrets of his works, guide you around the backstreets of the Old Town, skip you past the line of our best Museums, or create the customized itinerary that matches your interests best.

My guided tours can also be really creative: Gourmet tours, garden tours, old stores tours, legends tours, any theme tour you can imagine! Just tell me what’s your interests, and I’ll create your own customized itinerary!

Or we can discover my region together, Catalonia: an excursion to the Mountain and Monastery of Montserrat, a day trip to Girona and its Jewish heritage, a visit to the Dalí Museums. Or would you rather spend a day in our seaside? Any charming village of the Costa Brava will be a good choice! O let’s visit instead one of the many cellars in our Wine Country. There’s lots to see in Catalonia!

And then, we’ll add your personal touch! Some want to experience the local real life either using public transportation (subway, bus…) or visiting local markets, some prefer the excitement of the backstreets and alleys where they might not dare entering on their own (at least… the first time!). Other enjoy discovering a culture through its flavors and want to try local food (tapas are my favorite option!) or buy some local products. Some other need a coffee break or some Spanish hot chocolate (they’ve heard how thick it is and they want to try our famous “churros”). Some want plenty of ideas for things to do and places to go during the rest of their stay, while some other just have a few hours to visit and want to see as much as possible. Some love shopping. Some are looking for their Sephardi roots and want to know more about our Jewish heritage. Others are passionate about architecture, while others prefer nature, and some would spend all of their time in a museum. And still some other want to get a deeper insight of the local history or current situation (politics, economy, education, language issues…) and need someone who can sooth their thirst for knowledge.

Yes, I have many specialized tours, but most of the time I’m just asked to spice up a normal city tour with my client’s favorite touches.
